Air Liquide commits to the energy and ecological transition

Air Liquide develops innovative real-world technologies and solutions to help fight climate change.

The Group was an official partner of COP21, which took place in Paris in early December 2015. Air Liquide joined 59 international firms and 7 organisations in signing the “Business proposals for COP21 in Paris“.

At its stand in the “Ecomobility” area of the COP21 Solutions exhibition at the Grand Palais, Air Liquide presented the technologies it has developed to answer the energy and ecological transition challenge.

In parallel, at the Solutions Gallery in Le Bourget, the Group was awarded the “Innovative Product” Prize by the France-China Committee* for its high-temperature Heat Oxycombustion technology.

Finally, also during COP21, Air Liquide inaugurated the first hydrogen charging station in Paris, in partnership with the start-up STEP (Société du Taxi Électrique Parisien) and with the support of the City of Paris. The inauguration coincided with the launch of “hype”, the first fleet of hydrogen fuel-cell taxis, which will comprise around 70 vehicles by the end of its first year and several hundred within the next five years.

* The France-China Committee is an association set up in 1979 to forge economic and commercial ties between the two countries.
